EUROMA Cafeteria is Erasmus+ project where young managers, social workers, teachers, psychologists and other collaborate in order to decrease youth unemployment rate and abandoned areas of Roma people by using creativity and cherishing Romanian culture, history, nature. This course was arranged by Youth Club of Saint George (Clubul Tinerilor din Sfantu Gheorghe) and took place on 2-10 of April, 2015 in Sfantu Gheorghe, Romania.
The main goal of this project is to motivate young people in Romania to fight against unemployment in abandoned areas by creating small dealerships. Throughout this course 30 volunteers from Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, Italy, Hungary, Poland, France, Lithuania, Slovak Republic, Spain and Romania exchanged ideas on how to save and innovate Romania’s heritage. Moreover, they developed new sectors for young people, search for potential partners, stimulate both Roma and non-Roma youth to act, including, of course, organization and maintenance of EUROMA Cafeteria during the International Roma Days.
All in all, this project is a great way for young specialists to gain necessary experience, make an impact on society, learn to think out of the box, develop new skills, dare to leave their comfort zone and simply meet new people.
