The project is called ‘YOU’RE WELCOME’ and focuses on the improvement of intercultural communication, hospitality and hostmanship.
In light of recent public and political debate about refugees, asylum and general treatment of foreigners coming to Europe, we fin it highly relevant to conduct a project that focuses on intercultural communication and especially hospitality and hostmanship.
The project focuses on the fostering of social inclusion specifically through communication + cognitive and behavioral mobility of the young people within EU. It is our goal that we start to aim towards a greater understanding of ‘the other’ in society, who is often labeled a ‘ threat’ and an unknown factor instead of a potential and resourceful partner. Hospitaliy and hostmanship is a great way to ‘equalise’ power dynamics in a relationship and show your guest or partner that you are willing to listen, learn and adapt. This way we can posper as a European society.
We wish to improve the participants’ awarreness of intercultural communication, social dynamics and the importance of unerstanding ifferent types of mind-sets and communcative patternes in order to form strnger partnerships and cooperation.
The way and what we communicate are very important factors, when we try to establish relations in any setting, and therefore we belive that great hospitality and hostmanship are important virtues in our society. The way we communcate and unerstand others affects our relations with partners in every sphere of life, and we are ulimately dependent on gret partnerships and coperation in order for out European society to function and prosper. Yong people play a crucial part in defining and shaping our European society to function and prosper. Young people play a crucial part in defining and shaping our European future, and we belive that a focus on communication, hospitality and hostmanship fits a pln of mobility of young people within EU.
The participants come from 8 different countries: Denmark, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Lithuania
